Nuclear Control Systems was formed as a stand-alone business under the umbrella of the Ultra Electronics’ plc group in 2010 but our pedigree in the worldwide nuclear industry dates back more than 60 years.
Our reactor I&C and radiation monitoring business today is built on the foundations, experience, capabilities, and established products of our heritage companies including:-
- Winfrith Safety Systems - previously part of UKAEA (acquired 2006)
- Siemens Radmon – previously Plessey Nucleonics (acquired 2009)
- Health Physics Instrumentation specialists, Lab Impex (acquired 2014)
With monitoring and control installations across the globe, our systems have been protecting personnel, the environment and major country infrastructure for decades.
We have built a highly-skilled workforce of more than 450 employees and a further network of partners who are dedicated to the nuclear industry and are located at sites across the World.
Today, we are strategic partners to EdF Energy supporting them with the lifetime extensions of their UK fleet and received their Supplier of the Year award in 2016 in recognition of our work.
